Based on the concept of cultural heritage authenticity, this study addresses key challenges such as insufficient semantic clarity and limited adaptability in the digitalization of cultural resources. It proposes a three-stage digitalization pathway: "cognitive authenticity, recording authenticity, expressive authenticity," and develops a structured methodological framework for applying digitalized cultural resources to design contexts. Using traditional Chinese doors and windows as case studies, the research systematically undertakes semantic identification, three-dimensional data acquisition, and semantic modeling of cultural elements, subsequently establishing a knowledge representation mechanism that facilitates creative generation. Script systems such as Nüshu—a unique writing system created and used exclusively by women— function as composite cultural carriers, integrating linguistic utility, visual configuration, and ritual practice. This paper examines the digitization of the Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH), through the case of Ronghua, a traditional Chinese craft. We investigate the current practices in presenting and promoting the ICH craft-making process, gather insights on digitization, and propose key considerations and design implications through semi-structured interviews with 9 Ronghua craftspeople and three co-design workshops with 19 participants, including craftspeople, interaction designers, and end users. This paper presents a study based on three participatory workshops evaluating Nature Postcards from Finland, Japan, and those generated by artificial intelligence. The meaning fulness of place is examined through theories of human–nature connection—specifically restoration, nature-relatedness, and engagement with beauty—alongside the concept of sense of place. This paper introduces reflective journaling as a tool for advancing biodesign practices, merging documentation methods from biology and design while integrating more-than-human sensibilities into laboratory practices. It highlights the need for tools that can flexibly support record-keeping across biology and design, balancing precision and accountability with iteration, creativity, and collaboration. This study presents the design and evaluation of a cross-scale gamified learning system aimed at enhancing middle school students’ understanding of fundamental circuit concepts. Addressing the cognitive challenge of integrating macro-level circuit structures, micro-level electron dynamics, and symbolic representations, the system adopts a dual-mode interactive design. At the macro level, a tabletop interface enables hands-on assembly of real circuit components, supported by projection- based guidance to visualize circuit logic. Post-stroke dysphagia (PSD) profoundly affects patients' physical health, functional independence, and overall quality of life. However, existing rehabilitation strategies often face challenges in treatment adherence due to insufficient real-time feedback and low patient motivation. To address these limitations, this study designed and evaluated Dysphagia Dynamics, a wearable rehabilitation system integrating surface electro myo graphy (sEMG)-based biofeedback to guide Chin Tuck Against Resistance (CTAR) training. What elements make you feel that this is “home”? This study investigates the multifaceted concept of “home” for people with dementia, extending beyond physical shelter to encompass sensory, emotional, and relational dimensions. Drawing on a qualitative, participatory co-design approach at GRACE Lab— a living lab embedded in a Milan dementia village—we engaged five residents with mild-to-moderate dementia, care staff, and design researchers in semi-structured interviews, observations, storytelling, and one-on-one workshops. Hybrid work settings often lack the informal communication that naturally emerges from spontaneous encounters and ambient awareness of coworkers' activities, potentially hindering team collaboration. To address this challenge, we explored how lightweight interactions can be integrated into awareness- supporting technologies for fostering informal communication. In this paper we discuss CAMP, a co-design method for practice re-orientations in public policy environments. The CBW invited participants to productive encounters with bureaucratic artifacts, such as coat hangers, stamps, and coffee carafes. Recent advances in generative AI have enabled multiple pathways for high‑fidelity video synthesis; text‑to‑video, image‑to‑video animation, and video out painting. Empirical side-by-side evaluations of how untrained viewers perceive and distinguish these outputs from real footage remain scarce. In this study, we systematically compare human detection accuracy across these three AI generation techniques within three thematic contexts: historical footage, film and media content, and natural environments. We introduce Sensus Pond, an interactive system that reconfigures water not merely as a static natural element but as an active sensing medium for registering more-than-human traces. In response to the limitations of anthropocentric approaches in interaction design, we propose a methodological framework of observation without translation—resisting the tendency to stabilize, decode, or humanize nonhuman presence. This study presents Petpal+, an integrated service-design proposal for long-term pet care, developed through exploratory interviews (8 owners, 2 veterinarians) and validation sessions (2 owners, 2 veterinarians). The resulting artefacts include: (1) a mobile app with IoT-enabled devices for home monitoring, (2) a Medical Decision Handbook to guide treatment discussions, and (3) a Clinic Website to centralize care resources. This pictorial presents an ethnographic account of community-based design observed in a historical urban adventure playground in Tokyo. Focusing on university student designers who also served as play leaders, we examine how they navigated tensions between initiating designed activities and supporting child-led play. Through field observations and interviews, we identify strategies such as concealing role shifts, reframing activities as everyday occurrences, and adopting a watching-over stance to maintain childrens autonomy. This study explores how generative AI (GAI) and humans interpret emotional meanings through color in cinematic visuals. Drawing from film color theory, we designed a set of mood palettes and applied them to keyframes generated by GAI. Using qualitative questionnaires, we compared emotional interpretations from human participants and GPT-4o. Results revealed overlapping but diverging perceptions: humans relied on narrative context and memory, while AI leaned on statistical associations. These findings highlight GAI’s limited emotional grounding and suggest opportunities to enhance visual storytelling tools through hybrid color-emotion frameworks. We conducted a speculative filmmaking workshop with 9-10-year-old school children where participants worked in groups to envision the future of human-machine relationships, creating stop-motion animations showcasing their imagined futures. Analysis of the films highlights unexpected explorations of conflicts involving nature, alongside anticipated human-machine dynamics. This pictorial presents Blurring Boundaries, a speculative exhibition and workshop series staged during Melbourne Design Week 2025, that explores the shifting landscape of Hospital in the Home (HITH) care. While sound has primarily been employed as a medium or source for auditory experiences or information, recent attempts have emerged to redefine sound as an independent agent through the lens of posthumanist theory. This study presents Three Locks, an immersive narrative system that integrates Mixed Reality (MR) and Virtual Reality (VR) to investigate multi-perspective storytelling within nonlinear interactive environments. Players manipulate miniature figurines representing gold prospectors with distinct motivations. The MR stage facilitates structural guidance and expectation-building through physical interaction, whilethe VR stage delivers emotionally immersive, first-person narrative fragments. Social virtual reality (social VR) has emerged as a platform for HCI and CSCW research in recent years. While previous research has highlighted self-concept exploration and everyday social and community activities in social VR through interviews, less attention has been given to collaborative creative practices. As micro plastics gradually infiltrate the physiological structures and sensory characteristics of edible plants, this study combines empirical research and speculative design to construct an illustrated guide of edible flora in the “New Plastic Age”, which we herein conceptualize as the Neo-Plasticene. Through AI-assisted narrative and visual generation, the guide simulates potential morphological and sensory mutations in plants subjected to pollution stress—articulating intermediary species positioned between nature and artificiality, defined by their latent transformation and persistent edibility.
