Aside from exhibits featuring world-renowned art works, authentic western memorabilia, and informational displays, researchers and visitors can take advantage of the Donald C. & Elizabeth M. Information Use In History Research: A Citation Analysis Of Master's Level Theses, Graham Sherriff

This article addresses the need for quantitative investigation into students' use of information resources in historical research. It reports the results of a citation analysis of more than 3,000 citations from master's level history theses submitted between 1998 and 2008 at a mid-sized public university. The study's results support the hypotheses that the predominant format in history research is the monograph and that history research entails use of older resources, and in greater proportions, than other disciplines. This paper addresses rural book distribution in an era before free public libraries came to Australia. Well-to-do, city women established clubs, which solicited donations of “proper reading matter” and raised funds for the purchase of books for their “deprived sisters” in the Outback. They took advantage of a well-developed rail system to deliver book parcels to rural families. In New South Wales and Queensland they were known as Bush Book Clubs.

History has normative force. There was no history of colonialism, gender, fashion or crime until there were contemporary demands to explain and justify certain values.
