Information Seeking Anxiety: Effects Of Gender, Level Of Study And Age, Mohammadamin Erfanmanesh

This study examined the effects of gender, level of study and age on various dimensions of the information seeking anxiety construct among postgraduate students at a research-intensive university in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The 38-item Information Seeking Anxiety Scale was tested on three hundred and seventy-five (n=375) postgraduate students drawn from a population of eleven thousand (11000) students using stratified random sampling method. Information anxiety and information overload have no single generally accepted definition and term. They are all state based academic anxiety that serve as a barrier to the use of information particularly by students.
