The thesis of this paper is that economic integration can lead Central America to much higher levels of living for her people, but this will be accomplished only if the economic structure of the region is greatly modified. This study describes the impact of social change upon the social structure of an Indian pueblo community in New Mexico. It is an investigation of the variant social forces and their conflicting impingements. Given a certain culture heritage, a particular historical background and a specific physical and social setting, what are the results of change upon the social system and upon the individual?
