Pupil Size As A Physiological Correlate For Facilitatory And Inhibitory Effects In Masked Priming, Jason Geller
Pupil Size As A Physiological Correlate For Facilitatory And Inhibitory Effects In Masked Priming, Jason Geller
College of Science and Health Theses and Dissertations
Two studies examined the effects of word (study 1) and nonword (study 2) primes in word recognition, utilizing a masked priming procedure (Forster & Davis, 1984). The primary objective of both studies was to replicate the results obtained by Davis and Lupker (2006)—that is, inhibition from related word primes and facilitation for nonword primes—using a common dependent measure, reaction time, and a measure not yet utilized in the word recognition literature—pupil dilation. Study 1 found nominal evidence corroborating the inhibitory nature of word primes. In the RTs analysis, only word frequency effects arose. Further, pupil dilation analysis did not show …
Designing An "Information-Experience" Using Creativity Science Theory And Tools, Stephanie Belhomme
Designing An "Information-Experience" Using Creativity Science Theory And Tools, Stephanie Belhomme
Creativity and Change Leadership Graduate Student Master's Projects
An “information-experience” encapsulated by a technological/digital audio-visual tool presents data and potentially meaningful information to prompt actionable knowledge concerning: “unspoken creative process elements;” their profound impacts on both how well our “physiology of creativity” functions; but also on how well foundational creative thinking and behavioral prerequisites (energy, motivation, imagination, and ownership) are leveraged.
The product: 1) introduces the user to one component of the CPS (Creative Problem Solving) Facilitation Process - Exploring the Challenge; 2) features a content specific component which prompts exploration of the many correlations between societal, organizational / community, human physiological / behavioral data, and the direct …

In Search Of Suspended Judgment, Irina Mishina
Creativity and Change Leadership Graduate Student Master's Projects
This project is about exploring the process of suspending judgment, and the ways it can be facilitated. The author approaches the subject from different perspectives: through personal practice of suspending judgment and observing one’s own process; through collaboration with professionals from different areas looking for ways of integrating different non-cognitive approaches into a process of Creative Problem Solving (CPS) facilitation; and through exploring practical ways of facilitating suspending judgment with a pilot group. Rather than aiming at achieving concrete results, the project represents the beginning of the journey of exploration. Its main conclusion is that developing the ability to suspend …
