The Importance Of Case Studies For Lis Education, Tony Horava, Bill Curran

As the curriculum and methods of LIS education are evolving to meet new expectations, the case study methodology is an important pedagogical tool to strengthen the skills of students. The educational theory of John Dewey and with the management theory of Henry Mintzberg are provided as foundational context. There is significant value in this methodology in regards to adult learning characteristics such as active learning and incorporation of the student's life experience in problem-solving and scenario analysis.
