Students As Donors To University Archives: A Study Of Student Perceptions With Recommendations, Jessica Wagner, Debbi A. Smith

Publications and Research

Most of the literature that explores the relationship between students and university archives focuses on how to integrate archival materials into the undergraduate curriculum. Little exists that analyzes student perceptions of the types of materials that are found in archives; even less discusses how to induce students to donate materials that document life on campus. This case study examines student perceptions of various aspects of university archives, with the goal of developing better methods of reaching out to encourage donation of student life materials.

Assessing The Strategic Credibility Of Special Collections And Archives, Erin Passehl, Rick Stoddart

Erin Passehl Stoddart

In this time of often precarious funding at many colleges and universities, any case that can be made to illustrate how a department strategically fits into the overall university mission is not only worth merit, but an essential survival technique. This poster provides a case study of academic special collections in the Northwest and examines the methods these departments use to demonstrate value to the university. Working Together: Journal Of Western Archives & Western Roundups, Tom D. Sommer

Gordon wanted to establish a journal that would be for archivists working in the western United States.
