Psychotherapy provides essential coping mechanisms and strategies for children who are diagnosed with cancer, as they experience the extraordinary burden of physical, emotional, and mental strains. While many medical advancements have been made within the past few decades, progress related to psychotherapy for pediatric cancer patients has not been commensurate, evidenced by the limited current literature. This exploratory study was undertaken to explore the issue of the treatment of trauma in children and adolescents with an Autism Spectrum Disorder diagnosis. This study was undertaken to determine therapists' perspectives on the effectiveness of the TF-CBT model to treat complex trauma in children. This qualitative study aims to enhance and expand knowledge in the field about complex trauma and the usefulness of the TF-CBT clinical approach. Therapists with a master's level degree or higher in social work, psychology or a related field and who practice the TF-CBT model with children were recruited for this study. A Cognitive Behavioral Treatment For Impulsive Aggressive Behavior In Emotionally Disturbed Children, Laurence Kelly Furgurson

Twenty subjects were selected from a clinic population of emotionally disturbed children. The subjects were matched on the basis of classroom impulsivity (Impulsive Classroom Behavior Scale Scores) and age and assigned to either a treatment or control group. Both groups were further assessed by the Matching Familiar Figures Test and frequency counts of impulsive aggressive behaviors in several settings. The treatment group received six sessions of verbal self-instructions via modeling with a response cost contingent upon errors during training and three sessions of training in social problem solving.
