The present study aims to explore the academic stress among the Library and Information (LIS) Students of the Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra situated in the Haryana state of India. A structured questionnaire was designed to collect the data from all the 54 LIS students through the survey method and all the questions were based on a 5-point Likert scale. The Palghar region (north Maharashtra, India), located in the northwestern part of the stable continental region of India, experienced a low magnitude earthquake swarm, which was initiated in September 2018 and is continuing to date (as of October 2021). From December 2018 to December 2020, ~5000 earthquakes with magnitudes from M1.2 to M3.8 occurred in a small region of 20 × 10 km². These earthquakes were probably triggered by fluid migration during seasonal rainfall. The present paper identifies and presents a visual analysis of Research Data Management (RDM) literature published by Indian researchers and indexed in Scopus – the bibliographic and citation database. The researchers have used standard bibliometric methods of measurements to conduct the study such as Bradford’s law, Lotka’s law and Zipf’s Law among other parameters. The study findings indicate that India is rapidly focusing on RDM with its contribution of 136 publications to the global output of 4929 publications over a period of 1945 to 2021, ranking 12^th globally. Decree powers are common to presidential systems; they are rarely found in parliamentary ones. We analyze decree powers in one such rare setting: India. We show that bicameral minority governments in India systematically use ordinances to circumvent parliament and prosecute their legislative agendas. They promulgate more ordinances, enact less legislation, and often repromulgate lapsed ordinances. These patterns suggest that, with bicameral minority governments, the locus of lawmaking shifts to the executive branch. While both majority and minority governments invoke ordinances, the latter do so systematically to get around their parliamentary deficit. In the hands of minority governments, then, the mechanism …

We investigate whether judicial decisions are affected by career concerns of judges by analyzing two questions: Do judges respond to incentives to pander by ruling in favor of the government in the hope of receiving jobs after retiring from the Supreme Court? Does the government reward judges who rule in its favor with prestigious jobs? We construct a data set of Supreme Court of India cases involving the government for 1999–2014. Child height is a significant predictor of human capital and economic status throughout adulthood. Moreover, non-unitary household models of family behavior posit that an increase in women’s bargaining power can influence child health. We study the effects of an inheritance policy change, the Hindu Succession Act (HSA), which conferred enhanced inheritance rights to unmarried women in rural India, on child height. We find robust evidence that the HSA improved the height and weight of children.
