Shaping A Future For Library & Cme Through Partnerships, Shannon Glover, Jennifer Reagan
Southern Chapter/Medical Library Association Annual Conference
The purpose of this poster is to highlight the value of the partnership between library services and continuing medical education (CME) teams at Northeast Georgia Health System. Successful partnership examples include: 1) case conferences, such as Mortality & Morbidity (M&M) and tumor board, 2) library participation in the CME committee meetings, and 3) literature searches to support CME presentations. As a result, the partnership shows effectiveness by focusing on accountability and team work to accomplish educational goals and objectives set for the system.

Biennial Conference: The Social Practice of Human Rights
Partnerships between human rights practitioners, local communities, scientists, engineers, and health professionals have shown potential to address deeply rooted, systemic human rights concerns. These collaborations are essential for achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and for engaging the perspectives and expertise of all constituents. However, even when the individuals in these partnerships or the organizations they represent have common goals, their motivations, analyses, and solutions often come from different perspectives. Murdoch University in order to share its collaborative approach to supporting future generations of library professionals organised its first group practicum project in 2017. The project targeted a group of library students from Curtin University with an interest in science fiction. Seven students were recruited for a practicum placement to create a collection development report with recommendations on the management of the library’s Science Fiction Collection. The practicum project was a success, as the students delivered an industry relevant report in an environment that resembles the dynamics of a team project. Australian academic libraries first became partners in the transformation of Australian data and technology enabled research in 2008 through their involvement with the Australian National Data Service (ANDS) program to advance research data management capacity and capability. The partnership of academic libraries with ANDS enabled the development of new research support services and helped to shift the knowledge base of the academic community in research data management, in Australia.
