Dynamic in style and content, his speeches commanded the rapt attention of the American people for three intense months during which he delivered over two hundred and fifty. Almost from the inception of American sociology, there has been serious work done in the investigation of juvenile delinquency, This can be seen, perhaps, most clearly in the work of the men of the Chicago school, such as W.I. Thomas, Clifford Shaw, Frederick Thrasher, and so on. From the work of Shaw, there arose a serious emphasis upon the interrelationship of the physical environment and delinquency. He tried to show that delinquency was a function of the urban environment. But he, and most of the other workers in the field, was working in an almost completely urban research field. There …

An Evaluation Technique In Appraising Certain Community Resources For Conservation Education In Stanislaus County, Harold Clarence Francis

This study is concerned with how the school is to proceed in a program of conservation education to bring about these desired changes. The study attempted to evaluate the agencies in terms of the accessibility and adaptability of their use to the school program.

Some of these organizations have persisted until the present day. The function which they performed in enriching the lives of their members, and the contribution which they made to the life of the community seems to the investigator a valid reason for investigation into their background and history.

As far as the investigator …
