The aim of paper is an attempt to provide a comprehensive and multidimensional presentation of the determinants that shape the South Asian region. The current state of research gives rise to the following research questions: What are the constitutive fact ors and values of South Asia? To what extent is the shape of the region of South Asia influenced by endogenous factors and to what extent by exogenous factors?
