In the 272-page book 'Singapore, The Energy Economy: From The First Refinery To The End Of Cheap Oil, 1960 to 2010' by Ng Weng Hoong, he traced the evolution of Singapore’s economy over a 50-year period beginning from 1960, showing how energy has been a powerful but little noticed thread in the country’s rise from a struggling Third World country to an affluent city-state it is today.
