Librarians have been refining their information literacy assessment methods since the 1990′s closely tying these assessment measures to clearly articulated learning outcomes as defined in the ACRL Information Literacy Competency Standards. An assessment plan was developed and implemented in conjunction with four information literacy sessions offered to students enrolled in a required course in the Women’s Studies Undergraduate Program at the University of Western Ontario. Hear how one librarian implemented an assessment plan and what she learned in the process. Results of this research will inform how best to assess library instruction in support of undergraduate student learning.
