A bibliometric analysis based on 160 highly cited papers extracted from the Scopus international database was carried out to provide insights into literature characteristics and publication performances of various participating actors on “Impact of COVID-19 on Mental Health”. The aim of this study is to map the trends of research published in the Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities (JSSH), currently a six-monthly research journal of the Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU, Islamabad, Pakistan) being published since 1995. AIOU is a federally chartered university publishing 22 research journals. Most of AIOU’s research journals are recognized by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan including JSSH.

The present study is a qualitative and quantitative analysis of scholarly research publications for mapping the research productivity of University of Petroleum and Energy Studies, over a 15 year period (2004-2018). This study is based on SCOPUS database, and a total of 1319 publications were retrieved in order to examine the growth of publication, access type, type of documents of publication, authorship pattern, international collaboration, highly productive subject, author and their citation count etc. We have noticed an increasing trend in the number of publication throughout the year of our study.

The profile page of ResearchGate (RG) was visited to collect altmetrics indicators. The study also tried to perform scientometric analysis of publication outputs, citations and H-index of the researchers using the Scopus database.
