ABSTRACT This study examined librarians’ attitude towards the use of ICT in selected academic libraries in Kwara State. Descriptive survey research design was adopted. The population of the study consist of all the librarians in University of Ilorin, Kwara State University and Al-hikma University which gives a total number of 51 librarians. This paper explores the reason teachers choose to go into librarianship when leaving the teaching profession from Sub-Saharan Africa. Snowball sampling method was used to locate seventeen (17) participants for this study in Ghana. Mixed methods were used for data collection; questionnaire (open-ended questions) and interview. The data was analyzed using the thematic analysis technique. The study found the following as reasons teacher choose librarianship when leaving the teaching profession: Better Salaries and Remunerations, Relatedness of librarianship to teaching, Love for books, Employment Space and scope of opportunities for librarians. This study investigated the combined correlational effects of motivation, emotional intelligence and human capital development on the job satisfaction of librarians in Nigerian public universities. A correlational survey research design was adopted. The study population consisted of 1,254 librarians in public university libraries in Nigeria, from which 923 were selected using simple random sampling. The research instrument used was a self-developed questionnaire. A response rate of 67.2% was achieved. Data were analysed using descriptive (percentage, mean, average mean and standard deviation) and inferential (ANOVA) statistics. This study sets out to investigate knowledge sharing behavior as a predictor of job performance in universities in the South-West zone of Nigeria. The survey research design was employed for the study that used 364 librarians in the universities in the zone as its population. 343 copies of the research instrument (questionnaire) that was administered were retrieved, and only 329 copies were found useful for the study. Librarianship as a profession engages in mentoring in order to sharpen and sustain professional practice and be abreast with new development on the job. The study is on mentoring for professional development of librarians in Nigerian university libraries. This present study is a survey of 250 professional librarians from Nigerian university libraries. Questionnaire was used to collect data from the respondents. The percentages of the responses were tabulated. The main aim of this survey was to assess the status of librarians' communication skills in public libraries of Mashhad, Iran. The research population included all the librarians (n = 70) employed in the public libraries. The desired sample (n=59) was selected based on Krejcie and Morgan’s sample size table through simple random sampling. Introduction: This study conducted to assess the discipline specific and general skill level of librarians working in libraries of the top three Iranian medical universities in Tehran.

Methods: The survey was carried out among all 115 librarians working in the libraries of Iran, Tehran and Shahid-Beheshti University of Medical Sciences. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and one-way ANOVA.
