Abstract

The study investigated relationships among librarians’ knowledge of, attitude to and social media use for information dissemination in South-South Universities Nigeria. The study was necessitated by the under-utilization of information resources and services in university libraries, as a result of inadequate dissemination of information about the available resources and services to library users. The study adopted the correlational research design. The population of the study comprised all the 176 librarians working in all the 12 federal and state university libraries in South-South Nigeria. The study is conducted with the purpose to determine the attitude, perception and the pattern of knowledge sharing among visually impaired students of Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh, India. Appropriate pattern was formulated for data collection wherein schedule was used to gather data from 76 visually impaired students, the data so collected was analysed using SPSS (ver.23). This study examined the librarians’ perceptions and knowledge of the use of WhatsApp for the enhancement of service in university libraries in South-South, Nigeria. The study adopted a descriptive survey design and a questionnaire was the instrument used for data collection. Total enumeration (purposive sampling) technique was used to gather data from 169 librarians in 6 federal, 4 state and 3 private university libraries in South-South, Nigeria.
