Information Needs, Accessibility And Utilization Of Library & Information Resources As Elements Of Improving The Spiritual Well-Being Of Prisoners In Sri Lanka, Jayasundara Gamage Chandani

The main objective of this research is study of impact of the prison library services on prisoners’ spiritual well-being. Descriptive survey method was adopted and four null hypotheses were tested to achieve the main objective. A research questionnaire was used to collect data on the sampled 80 prisoners. Result indicated that information needs, accessibility to library information resources and utilization of library information resources are very critical ingredients in determining the spiritual well-being of prisoners. There was significant relationship between: spiritual well-being and utilization of library information resources (r=0.660; (p=0.000) ≤0.05), accessibility to library information resources by prisoner (r=0.341; (p=0.016) …

The study was conducted to investigate the Availability, Accessibility and Satisfaction of Users of Information Resources in the Faculty of Agriculture University Libraries by Non-Academic Staffs of OAU and UI, Nigeria. Three research objectives guided the study. 380 copies of questionnaire were distributed to the respondents in the faculty of agriculture university libraries and in response only 315 (82.89%) were received from the nonacademic staffs. stratified random sampling technique was employed for the study due to the largeness of the population. The purpose of the present study was to examine the awareness and use of databases by undergraduate students of FUAM one hundred students was randomly selected out of twenty thousand three hundred and twenty four (21324) in the study. A specifically designed questionnaire was administered to gather information about the awareness and use of databases by students. Results showed that the vast majority of the participants used Internet search engines rather than specialized databases and full-text resources.
