Releasing business microdata is a challenging problem for many statistical agencies. Businesses with distinct continuous characteristics such as extremely high income could easily be identified while these businesses are normally included in surveys representing the population. In order to provide data users with useful statistics while maintaining confidentiality, some statistical agencies have developed online based tools to allow users to specify and request tables created from microdata. These tools only release perturbed cell values generated from automatic output perturbation algorithms in order to protect each underlying observation against various attacks, such as differencing attacks. This paper describes an application of small area estimation (SAbl to agricultural business survey data. Both well known small area estimators, such as the empirical best linear unbiased predictor (EBLUP), and more recently proposed small area estimators, for example, tile M-quanlile, the robust EBLUP aml!he Model Ansed Direct estimators arc considered. This article introduces RFID technology and the EPC Network and investigates their potential for B-to-B eCommerce supply chain management. Based on empirical data gathered from four tightly interrelated firms from three layers of a supply chain, several scenarios integrating RFID and the EPC Network have been tested and evaluated. This paper presents a study of Swedish regional small businesses which investigated the barriers to E-commerce adoption (amongst other things). The aim of the paper is twofold: to examine the correlation between barriers to E-commerce adoption in order to identify underlying factors: and to determine whether these differ between SMEs that are members of a small business cluster and SMEs that are not. Although asymptotically design-unbiased, GREG estimators may produce bad estimates. The article examines the behaviour of GREG estimators when the underlying models are misspecified. It shows how an efficient GREG estimator was found for a business survey that posed some problems. The work involved data exploration in several steps, combined with analyses of g-weights, residuals and standard regression diagnostics. We discuss two diagnostics for whether a GREG estimate is reasonable or not. A common justification for the use of GREG estimators is that, being asymptotically design unbiased, they are relatively robust to model choice. However, we show that the property of …

We present a framework for evaluating the impact of IT-enabled radical process change on business outcomes at Japan Airlines. The framework presents a systemic view of factors that are shown to impact the firm's business outcomes. The framework identifies salient global environmental factors and business challenges the firm faces, strategic responses it makes, and management methodologies and strategic IT systems adopted to enable the firm's changes in business processes. We then discuss the radical transformation of the traditional keiretsu-based value chain at Japan Airlines, the world's third largest airline company.
