Concrete-filled stainless steel tubular (CFSST) slender columns are increasingly used in composite structures owing to their distinguished features, such as aesthetic appearance, high corrosion resistance, high durability and ease of maintenance. Currently, however, there is a lack of an accurate and efficient numerical model that can be utilized to determine the performance of circular CFSST slender columns. Rectangular concrete-filled stainless steel tubular (CFSST) beam-columns utilized as supporting members for building frames may experience axial compression and biaxial moments. A numerical simulation considering the local buckling effects for thin-walled rectangular CFSST slender beam-columns has not been performed. This paper reports a stability modeling on the structural characteristics of rectangular CFSST slender beam-columns accounting for different strain-hardening of stainless steel under tension and compression. The influences of local buckling are considered in the simulation utilizing the existing effective width formulations. As a measure of energy "quality", exergy is meaningful for comparing the potential for thermal storage. Systems containing the same amount of energy could have considerably different capabilities in matching a demand profile, and exergy measures this difference. Using nonlinear finite element method, a thermo-mechanical coupled simulation model for the formation mechanism of the laminated crack defect has been established in the upsetting of heavy disk-shaped forgings. Through numerical simulation, the distributions of stress, equivalent strain and strain rate were analysed. Meanwhile the distribution diagram of stress state evolution was obtained, and the uncoordinated deformation, under tri-lateral compression, is determined as the main reason leading to laminated crack defect. The community diversities of two oil reservoirs with low permeability of 1.81 x 10 '3 and 2.29 x 10 '3 1/4m 2 in Changqing, China, were investigated using a high throughput sequencing technique to analyze the influence of biostimulation with a nutrient activator on the bacterial communities. These two blocks differed significantly in salinity (average 17,500 vs 40,900 mg/L). However, there are limited studies investigating the factors that influence cloud computing adoption within Australian SMEs. Micro flexible rolling aims to fabricate submillimeter thick strips with varying thickness profile, where the surface quality of products is mainly determined by initial workpiece surface roughness and subsequent surface asperity flattening process, which is affected by process parameters during rolling. This paper shows a 3D finite element model for flexible rolling of a 250 μm thick workpiece with reduction of 20 to 50%, and rolling phase with thinner thickness indicates a better ability to decrease the surface roughness. A biased sensor reading could result in inappropriate control and thereby increased energy consumption or unsatisfied indoor thermal comfort. The three-dimensional (3D) nonlinear dynamics of an axially accelerating beam is examined numerically taking into account all of the longitudinal, transverse, and lateral displacements and inertia. Hamilton's principle is employed in order to derive the nonlinear partial differential equations governing the longitudinal, transverse, and lateral motions. A fast and reliable analytical technique was evaluated and validated for determination of N-nitrosodimethylamine (NDMA) formation and rejection by reverse osmosis (RO) membranes in potable water reuse applications. The analytical instrument used in this study is high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), photochemical reaction (PR) and chemiluminescence (CL) e namely HPLC-PR-CL. The use of digital PCR for quantification of nucleic acids is rapidly growing. A major drawback remains the lack of flexible data analysis tools. Published analysis approaches are either tailored to specific problem settings or fail to take into account sources of variability. We propose the generalized linear mixed models framework as a flexible tool for analyzing a wide range of experiments. We also introduce a method for estimating reference gene stability to improve accuracy and precision of copy number and relative expression estimates. We demonstrate the usefulness of the methodology on a complex experimental setup.

A hot compression bonding process was developed to prepare a novel laminated composite consisting of high-Cr cast iron (HCCI) as the inner layer and low carbon steel (LCS) as the outer layers on a Gleeble 3500 thermomechanical simulator at a temperature of 950 °C and a strain rate of 0.001 S-1. Interfacial bond quality and hot deformation behaviour of the laminate were studied by microstructural characterisation and mechanical tests. Semi-analytical solutions for the reversible Selkov model are developed and used to investigate its static and dynamic stability. A one-dimensional reaction-diffusion cell is considered with all steps of the Selkov reaction modeled. A coupled set of four partial differential equations is obtained for the precursor, reactant, autocatalyst and final product concentrations. The Galerkin method is applied to approximate the spatial structure of the concentrations to obtain a lower-order, ordinary differential equation model, as an approximation to the governing partial differential equations. This work presents a fine microstructure and local misorientation study of various oxide phases in the tertiary oxide scale formed on a hot-rolled steel strip via electron back-scattering diffraction (EBSD). Local strain in individual grains of four phases, ferrite (α-Fe), wustite (FeO), magnetite (Fe3O4) and hematite (α-Fe2O3), has been systematically analysed. In this study, the authors investigate energy efficiency in antenna selection multi-input multi-output automatic repeat request (MIMO ARQ) wireless systems. The authors first derive an approximate expression for the average frame-error rate (FER) in antenna selection MIMO systems over quasi-static Nakagami-m fading channels. The FER approximation is then used to obtain an analytical expression of an energy-efficiency metric that is defined as the total energy required to successfully deliver one information bit.
