Abstract

Recovery environments are a crucial role in any individual’s journey to achieve sobriety. A safe environment will allow people who have a history of substance use to work their program effectively and decrease their relapse potential. The purpose of this paper is to identify multiple recovery-based programs for new professionals and providers entering the field of substance abuse treatment that allow their clients to have the best opportunity to succeed with their personal goals. In the state of Minnesota, more children who use a language other than English were reported to speak English less than “very well” (U.S. Census Bureau, 2020). There was neither a “gold standard” (Verdon, McLeod, & Wong, 2013), nor Preferred Practices (ASHA, 2020) for the treatment of speech-language disorders for children who were bilingual. The current study investigated the practices for treating speech-language disorders in this population by SLPs employed in schools in a region of west-central MN and eastern ND. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a versatile therapeutic approach that can be utilized to treat various emotional disorders. Therefore, the effectiveness of CBT is conceptualized through a thorough examination of present literature and its use in treating various emotional disorders in adolescents. Literature reviewed includes meta-analyses, journals and articles. CBT proved to be a commonly used therapeutic approach, and demonstrated adaptability when necessary. A wide array of benefits from using CBT to treat emotional disorders were displayed across multiple sources. Due to the demands of the job and the nature of the work, being a psychiatric nurse can be mentally, emotionally, and physically draining. As a result, burnout rates are high among psychiatric nurses. Burnout can negatively impact the well-being of psychiatric nurses as well as the quality of patient care. It is important to explore and understand psychiatric nurses' experiences of burnout to help prevent and decrease burnout. The purpose of this pragmatic mixed-methods study was to identify the factors that impact a nutrition professional’s preceptorship decision and potential solutions to combat preceptor shortages within accredited nutrition and dietetics programs. Homan’s social exchange theory provided the theoretical framework that if perceived costs of preceptorship outweigh the perceived benefits, then the activity will cease.

Phase one of the study included an online mixed-methods questionnaire. Phase two included a qualitative focus group and interview with self-identified volunteers from phase one. Quantitative analysis through SPSS included descriptive statistics (means and standard deviations) and inferential statistics (one-way ANOVA). Qualitative data for both …
