Expand the already successful Kyoto Protocol Article 3.3 plantations, as carbon sinks.? Determine the potential of Kyoto Protocol Article 3.4 sink activities (cropland management, grazing land management and revegetation) to contribute to carbon sequestration in Western Australia.

Small rural holdings are often owned by people who want to pursue a semi-rural lifestyle but who are inexperienced in land management issues. This can result in landholders stocking their properties with animals at rates higher than the land resources can sustain, leading to degradation problems such as soil erosion, water pollution and damage to vegetation. This report covers about 94,700 square kilometres of rangelands in the Sandstone-Yalgoo-Paynes Find area of Western Australia. The area lies within 27°S and 30°S latitudes, and 115°30'E and 120°E longitudes and includes the towns of Sandstone, Yalgoo and Paynes Find. The northern, southern, and eastern limits of the survey area are largely defined by the boundaries of the 1:250,000 scale series map sheets.The western limit is the boundary between the pastoral and agricultural area.

To learn more about their own flock productivity relative to other flocks in the district, ten woolgrowers in the Roebourne-Port Hedland Land Conservation District conducted a small wool growing competition from November 1989 to November 1991. They compared the wool production from 20 young wethers drawn from their flocks.
