Assessing The Value Of Korean School Library Research: A Bibliometric Comparison Of Korean And International Journal Papers, Eungi Kim

This study aimed to assess the value of Korean school library research by comparing Korean and international research on school libraries. To conduct this research, records of international papers indexed by Scopus and domestic papers indexed by the Korean Citation Index (KCI) on school libraries were downloaded. These records were analyzed and compared in terms of publication trends, journals, and author keywords. Approximately, four Korean LIS journals collectively published 39% more papers than the international journals indexed by Scopus, suggesting the substantial contributions made by Korean researchonschool libraries. Mens Sana Monograph is a peer reviewed journal of medicine and mental health which is a publication of Mens Sana Research foundation. The present bibliometrics study of 153 articles published in the Mens Sana Monograph from 2007 to 2016. This study analyzes various aspects of the journal such as growth of articles and citations, authorship pattern and collaboration, number of times cited, most productive countries and institutions, etc. of these articles. The study reveals that the journal has a positive growth in respect to publications and their citations. The authorship pattern found in this journal is towards single authorship.

This paper examines the publications of IITs, which have been available and indexed in ResearchGate, Web of Science, Scopus and Indian Citation Index databases. The data for the study have been taken out from two websites there are National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) and ResearchGate. A total number of 47,380 publications have been indexed in Web of Science, Scopus and Indian Citation Index databases and 46,729 publications are available in the ResearchGate. The study found that more number of publication are available in ResearchGate.

Purpose- The purpose of this paper is to analyze bibliometrics and visualization of Library Philosophy and Practice (LPP).

Design/methodology/approach- Scopus citation database was used to gather the data. Using advanced search in the database, bibliographic data of the articles published in the journal over the past twenty years were extracted. Then, the analysis was performed using bibliometric indicators and some applications, such as Microsoft Excel and VOS viewer.

The year wise distribution of papers, authorship pattern, institution-wise distribution, length of the papers, type of the document published, international authored contributions and citation etc., of the journal have been taken for this study. The profile page of ResearchGate (RG) was visited to collect altmetrics indicators.
