African American Mothers' Narratives Of Breastfeeding Support From Healthcare Providers, Tessa Treadwell

Research indicates that African American women breastfeed at the lowest rates of any racial/ethnic group in the U.S. Breastfeeding has shown to have numerous health benefits for both mother and baby, making the lower rates of breastfeeding among African Americans a public health concern. Racial disparities in healthcare may contribute to these discrepancies. This research will analyze the perceptions of information and social support for breastfeeding provided by healthcare providers among a sample of African American mothers who breastfed their babies. Black's Perception Of Blacks And Whites In Relation To The Expression Or Inhibition Of Anger, Charlie W. Johnson
Retrospective Theses and Dissertations
The present research was concerned with examining the presence of anger in black subjects and determining if and how the experience of anger influences their perceptions of other blacks as well as whites. The hypotheses underlying the present research were: (1) Blacks who inhibit anger (anger inhibited) would exhibit a greater likelihood of viewing whites positively while viewing blacks in a more negative fashion; (2) Blacks who express anger (anger expressed) would exhibit a greater likelihood of viewing blacks more positively while viewing whites in a more negative fashion; (3) Differences were anticipated in the ratings of black vis-a-vis white …

A speech delivered on the efficacy and possibilities of emancipation with colonization, suggesting the expatriation of American slaves to the Caribbean upon emancipation (Figures 9 & 10.) The National Anti-Slavery Standard was the official weekly newspaper of the American Anti-Slavery Society, established in 1840 under the editorship of Lydia Maria Child and David Lee Child. The paper published continuously until the ratification of the Fifteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution in 1870. Its motto was “Without Concealment—Without Compromise.” It contained Volume I, number 1, June 11, 1840 through volume XXX, number 50, April 16, 1870.
