Thus in this “History of the Brookings Register,” I am producing an effect. This effect had to have a cause. This cause was the development and success of the paper, which is in turn is the effect of there being some cause for its development. That cause is the town of Brookings. What I have been trying to say is that without the town of Brookings there would have been no Brookings Register. Does it not seem logical then, to take up a brief history of the found and settlement of this town?
