The purpose of this qualitative case study with the exploratory design was to explore the barriers, as perceived by Ethiopia’s national elders and women ambassadors of peace, that may impede the incorporation of Indigenous conflict resolution mechanisms (ICRMs) within the federal criminal justice system of the country to spur social change and to provide a clear policy orientation for this incorporation to take place. The servant leadership model and an ubuntu-based leadership approach provided the theoretical framework. The U.S. Army Chaplaincy is charged with the unique and sacred mission to “Care for the Soul of the Army” ─an Army with an increasingly pluralistic culture with respect to religious and spiritual beliefs. The purpose of this study was to explore the presence and degree of servant leadership behaviors in active duty chaplains, as an initial step in discerning the potential of servant leadership as a conceptual framework to help the chaplaincy provide effective pastoral care within a diverse organization. Hawai’i leaders are engaging in leadership practices to preserve and pass on their culture and knowledge to future generations. However, due to colonization, capitalism, and hegemonic forces present in Hawai’i this has resulted in challenges faced by leaders such as resistance, competition, and bureaucracy. Hawai’i leaders have been involved in legal controversies to protect the sacred places, people, and resources that connect them to ancestors, culture, and identity. This research focused on global leadership and change and competitive athletics. Servant leadership, including the five servant leadership variables; altruistic calling, emotional healing, wisdom, persuasive mapping, and organizational stewardship, as well coach athlete relationships, including the three coach-athlete relationship variables; closeness, commitment, and complementarity, were used to analyze athlete perceptions. This study then found correlations of the associated factors to outcome, at team and individual levels. Findings from this study include recognizing the commitment of the head coach as a factor in team mins; individual athlete perception of closeness as related to games started; the emotional healing aspects from the …
