The GLA held its annual Library Day in Atlanta and it sponsored awards and scholarships, including the American Library Association (ALA) Emerging Leader, Hubbard Scholarship, and Beard Scholarship. Also noted is the support of the GLA to Read Across America, the Georgia Student Media Festival and the Georgia Peach Award. Another initiative of the GLA is the passage of a resolution for an honorary membership for the late AA Director Judith F. Krug.
