The Superhero Inside is a research-based, non-fiction novel that connects elements of psychology to the concept of superheroes. There are seven chapters that explore a range of topics, including why we are fascinated by villainous characters and how superheroes represent (or misrepresent) diverse groups of people.

This paper is exploratory research into how college-age women understand their experiences of street harassment. Street harassment is a normative experience for women living in patriarchal cultures, and is an intrusive experience faced regularly in public life. Women told their experiences as part of a narrative that changed over time as they aged from teens into college. Their experiences were not confined to the street, but experienced across public life, and women often carry the weight of harassment in silence. This project examined the research of past and present scholars in regards to the presence of violence in sport, specifically in regards to men’s lacrosse and the correlation between on-field violence and violent tendencies in its athletes off of the field. This examination observed the Native American aspects of the sport and violent aspects of the traditional form that have been perpetuated into the modernized version of the sport. Such perpetuation of violence raised questions of the division of on-field and off-field violence and how they impact those who participate in the sport. This research combines an understanding of gender in Burmese society with contemporary techniques for preventing intimate partner violence (IPV). It is designed to provide individuals and groups with a comprehensive understanding of intimate partner violence in Burma as well as strategies to best improve programs dealing with this form of violence. To understand the current state of gender relations in Burma, interviews were conducted with 24 college students in Yangon, Burma. These interviews were used as a context for creating strategies which would best aid interested organizations in preventing intimate partner violence.
