A Study Of The Effect Of Chronological Age On Reading Performance In The First, Second And Third Grades, Gale L. Fuller

Student Work

Reading, a complex psycho-physiological, thought-provoking process if concerned with the communication of ideas from writer to reader (16). In reading, one is not having first-hand experience with human events. Rather, he is having vicarious experiences by interpreting the written record of another person’s experience. Many skills and abilities; i.e., word recognition, drawing of inferences, the organization of ideas, comprehension of meaning, and a host of others, are involved in the reading process. However, reading does not involve these skills individually. They operate together in meaningful situations to serve one’s purpose.

Learning to read is a central concern of all children, …

Discrimination Of Manics And Depressives By The Projective Technique, Handwriting Analysis, Roscoe Sease Aull Jul 1954

Discrimination Of Manics And Depressives By The Projective Technique, Handwriting Analysis, Roscoe Sease Aull

Master's Theses

Graphology ia one of the oldest of psychological methods, but despite its long history it has not yet been established as an exact scientific technique. This existing situation is not so unique if we stop to consider that most other methods of personality analysis are not without flaws either. Perhaps when personality itself is better understood and consistently defined, graphology will be able to make more rapid advances. Conflict in the development of consistent graphological techniques is a main cause also in the struggle for scientific acceptance. Two major problems seem to face the graphologists today. The first is the …

The European Defense Community, Robert H. Alfandary

All Graduate Theses and Dissertations, Spring 1920 to Summer 2023

In 1945 it was a common belief that World War II had just been fought to successful completion. The German and Japanese Empires were vanquished, with Germany destroyed more thoroughly than any of the countries she had occupied. The two large remaining powers, the United States and the Soviet Union, seemed to be working together for the common good of the whole world. They had even agreed to participate in the United Nations Organization, which, as a matter of fact, they had been prominently associated with since the earliest negotiations. Now universal peace, and maybe the Millennium, would be the …
