The potential impact of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) on the academic community raises numerous questions and answers, many of which have yet to be discovered. As a new and innovative technology, GenAI poses questions about functionality, training data integrity, ethics, intellectual property, and research functionality capabilities. To celebrate the 400^th anniversary of the printing of Shakespeare’s First Folio, the Baylor University Libraries hosted a three-day celebration; “Shakespeare 400” drew faculty members from six academic departments and leveraged the talents of both graduate and undergraduate students. The four main events drew a cumulative crowd of over 200 people. Graduate students contributed to the events through music performance, a dramatic reading, enthusiastic promotion, and engaged participation. This presentation will explore key take-aways for including graduate students in library events.

Lee Library’s Experiential Studio, which is an interdisciplinary design space where students, faculty, and librarians from multiple colleges and departments can work together on solving compelling social problems. In 2014, Austin Peay State University’s (APSU) Woodward Library developed an online, interactive video tutorial for the American Psychological Association (APA) Style Guide. APSU’s College of Education (CoE) approached the library about creating a tutorial similar to an existing video, Plagiarism: Making the Right Choices, for use in their upper division and graduate level courses. Through a collaborative process using content previously in the form of a PowerPoint presentation, the library generated a script, storyboards, and eventually a full video. Now, how best to engage the students with the assessment?

As part of the reaccreditation effort at Lord Fairfax Community College -- a two-year institution in northwestern Virginia -- the QEP Leadership Team sought LFCC Librarians’ assistance in a multifaceted, 5-year, information literacy initiative. This effort included the addition of a librarian to the all-faculty QEP Leadership Team, the redesign of composition courses, and professional development through a new LFCC program: “Seeking the Truth: Faculty-Librarian Collaboration Mini-Grants.”

Milner Library and the Graduate School at Illinois State University have collaborated on a variety of initiatives in recent years, such as presenting workshops for graduate students and providing guidance for formatting theses and dissertations. This presentation will highlight one of these collaborations: the inclusion of student presentation materials from the annual University Research Symposium into ISU ReD, the University's institutional repository. The Biomedical Sciences program at Florida State College at Jacksonville (FSCJ) is a rigorous, hands-on laboratory-based curriculum with course work covering physics, chemistry, biology, microbiology, molecular biology, and genetics. Objective: The objective of this study was to highlight and document the ways that collaboration, specifically across great geographic and institutional differences, can be an asset when engaging in research in health sciences librarianship.

Methods: Impact and success were measured through formal outcomes (publications/presentations) and informal observations, primarily focusing on the collaboration experiences of two health sciences librarians in non-health sciences academic libraries. The history of collaboration spans from 2015-present day and includes demonstrated outcomes on the local, regional, and national level.

In this presentation, we outline the challenges faced when we adopted a LEAP-inspired general education curriculum with several critical skills as outcomes but created no support structure to deliver and foster them. Our General Learning Outcomes (GLOs) include writing, information literacy, speaking, and critical thinking; however, we had faculty leadership, expertise, and tutoring support only for writing. While writing assessment showed strong results and ultimately created curriculum change, the outsourced assessments of info lit, critical thinking, and speaking gave us widely divergent and unsatisfactory results. In an effort to eliminate redundancies in thesis and dissertation cataloging at the University of Arkansas, a working group was devised to create a semi-automated workflow. This new, multi-departmental workflow eliminates redundancies, allowing us to provide better access to the intellectual endeavors of the scholars on our campus. This paper describes the experience of the collaboration within multiple library departments and departments across campus; acknowledges the importance of library and campus collaboration with examples of success and advice from the literature; and emphasizes clear and consistent communication, meeting user needs, and streamlined and innovative workflows.

Over the course of two years, a team of librarians and programmers from LSU Libraries migrated the 186 collections of the Louisiana Digital Library from OCLC's CONTENTdm platform over to the open-source Islandora platform.

Early in the process, the team understood the value of creating a reproducible metadata transformation pipeline, because there were so many unknowns at the beginning of the process along with the certainty that mistakes would be made. This presentation will describe how the team used innovative and collaborative tools, such as Trello, Ansible, Vagrant, VirtualBox, git and GitHub to accomplish the task.
