Information Needs Of Rural Women: A Case Study Of Bangalore North Taluk, Roja M

The present study try to explore the occupational rural women information needs, sources and barriers to access information in Sonnenahalli and Dibburu villages, Bangalore North taluk, Karnataka state. The study employed survey method and data were collected by administrating a questionnaire. This study reveals that majority of the rural women occupation was agriculture followed by animal husbandry. 81.81% occupational rural women main information source was television and 52.72% rural women illiterate it’s a main information barrier in rural area. 50.9% occupational rural women are using information to polish their daily routine work.

The aim of this study is to identify the influence of Jobstreet.com to the information needs. The research approach is quantitative approach with descriptive research type through survey. The respondent is graduate student of Library Science Universitas Indonesia which graduated in 2017 and used Jobstreet.com amounted to 44 respondents. Based on the calculation of the regression coefficients, all the variables showed a positive value to usability (0.927), information quality (0.983), and service interaction quality (1.343). This paper examined marketing in the 21st century using communication modes in accessing information needs of students in two study centre libraries of National Open University of Nigeria. A descriptive research design was used for this study and the instrument for data collection was a questionnaire, observation and interview. The area of the study was Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Anambra State. A total of 40 engineering lecturers from the Faculty of Engineering Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University formed the population. Purpose: This paper reports a study, which examined the specific information needs and sources of Maasai pastoralists at Orkesumet area in Simanjiro District, Manyara -Tanzania

Design/methodology/approach: The study used pragmatism paradigm which is a mixed method approach. Simple random sampling was used to select 40 respondents from the five villages (Mukumbi, Naibor-enderit, Narosoito, Orkirung’urung’ and Endonyengijape. Purposive sampling was used to select clan leaders (Ilaigwanak and Ingopir), two from each of the five villages forming ten purposively selected respondents. The study investigated the information behavior of students towards the use of library information resources in Universities in Oyo State, Nigeria. The study adapted the Wilson’s model of Information Behavior and adopted a correlational survey research design. A sample size of four hundred respondents was drawn from selected universities in South Western Nigeria, using a simple random sampling technique. Regression analysis and correlation analysis were used to analysis data obtained from the field. study aims at identifying the information needs of women in South-South Prison, Nigeria. The descriptive survey design was adopted for this study. The census sampling technique was adopted for this study. Four objectives were set for the study and the interview was used to elicit information from respondents. Findings showed that Akwa-Ibom Prison topped the highest (21%) of the women in South-South Prison, followed by Cross River Prison (19%), Delta Prison (18%), Edo Prison/Rivers Prison (17%) and Bayelsa Prison (8%). This paper aimed to determine the information needs and information seeking behaviour of the Krobo beads producers in the Eastern Region of Ghana. It also looked at sources of information available to to the beads producers as well as the problems they encountered when searching for information about their work.
