Personalizing Voyager Using Browser Extensions, Kathryn Lybarger
Personalizing Voyager Using Browser Extensions, Kathryn Lybarger
Library Presentations
If there is a complex web site that you use frequently, you may be able to simplify your work using web browser extensions! In this presentation I will describe a few types of browser extensions (including OpenSearch and GreaseMonkey), and give examples of how I have used them to speed up (and otherwise improve) Voyager on the web for cataloging staff, all without needing any special server access. Similar methods could be used for other web-based systems, such as Primo and Alma.

If you have ebooks in your catalog, chances are some of them are undead; they look like live links in the OPAC, but clicking on them will reveal a nasty surprise! Visit the ZBooks web site to see the zombies we already know about, and find tools for hunting them out of your own catalog. Let us know about new ones you’ve found, and we’ll put up a Wanted poster to spread the word!
