This dataset contains survey data of the U.S. adult population that includes self-reported heat-health symptoms, protective behaviors implemented during heat waves, and perceptions of how a heat wave would affect personal health and the health of others. Temperature estimates of what participants may have experienced the summer prior to the survey are included at the county level. Demographic variables and spatial scales by region, state, and county are also included.

INTRODUCTION: The need to be able to assess collaborative practice in health care teams has been recognized in response to the direction for team-based care in a number of policy documents. The purpose of this study is to report on further refinement of such a measurement instrument, the Assessment of Interprofessional Team Collaboration Scale (AITCS) first published in 2012. To support this refinement, two objectives were set: Objective 1: to determine whether the items from the data collected in 2016 load on the same factors as found for the 2012 version of the 37-item AITCS. Objective 2: to determine whether …

Abstract.
With the influx of new technologies in the world, learning is becoming more interesting than ever before. The study was conducted to access the adoption of mobile learning in Nigeria. Three objectives and three research questions were formulated to guide the researcher. 200, 300 and 400 levels of College of Natural and Applied Sciences and College of Social Sciences were the study population. The sampled population was 83 respondents which is the 10% of the entire population. Structured questioner was the instrument used for data collection. It was discovered that smart phones and laptops were the mobile technologies preferred …

Keeping our libraries “Open to All” includes providing online content that students can easily navigate whenever and wherever they are. Designing from the student perspective requires data, but design research methods can be intimidating and time-consuming. During this interactive session, you’ll learn two design research techniques, card sorting and task-based usability testing. You will gain hands-on experience in planning, designing, and conducting both research methods, including practical tips we gleaned from our own redesign of our research guides.

ABSTRACT
The greatest problem of any society is lack of authentic, efficient and right information to function effectively. No society can function without proper information, as such, this paper tends to examine the roles of the library in providing information services for the attainment of sustainable development goals, three research objectives were set to put the paper in the right perspective. It also emphasized the roles libraries plays in the society which are educational, informational, research, conservational, cultural and reference roles. The paper focused on eight of the seventeen points Sustainable development goals. The challenges libraries and librarian may face …

The Influence Of Individualistic Ideas On American Mobility, Markus Magiera
English Department: Traveling American Modernism (ENG 366, Fall 2018)
In this paper I showcase the influence of individualistic thinking ranging back as far as Age of Enlightenment on the development of mobility in America since the eighteenth century. My goal is to identify the factors that shaped the evolution of travel. In order to do so I start by analyzing texts from the early nineteenth century, where travel by foot was the common thing. Next I focus on new means of mobility; first the bicycle, and later on the automobile. I aim to convince that modernity's main instigator was the change in thinking brought forth in the Age of …

Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology, and Social Work Ancillary Materials
This set of ancillary materials for Experimental Psychology was created under a Round Eleven Mini-Grant for Ancillary Materials Creation.
Author's Description:
"The purpose of this project was to create a set of ancillary materials for the open textbook Research Methods in Psychology, a textbook intended to be used for psychology research methods courses. At the start of this grant, the textbook was available through the University of Minnesota’s Open Textbook Library (open.lib.umn.edu/psychologyresearchmethods/) and could be found in most open material repositories. Since this grant was proposed, however, a more recent version of the text has been …

African Savanna Vegetation Model, Christoffer Axelsson
Graduate Student Datasets and Models
The project aimed at creating a model that can simulate the effect of environmental factors on trees and grasses in an African savanna landscape. It enables simulating the growth of woody and herbaceous vegetation in an African savanna landscape, where the user can define the environmental conditions. Input to the model includes:
- Monthly precipitation
- Fire regime
- Grazing pressure
- Soil type
- Slope
- Attributes of the woody species, such as maximum crown size and sensitivity to light conditions, drought, and fire.

We address the issue of optimal investment in “preventative capital” to mitigate episodic, mobile-source air pollution events. We calibrate Berry et al.'s (2015) endogenous-risk model using a unique dataset related to "red air day" episodes occurring in Northern Utah over the past decade. Our analysis demonstrates that, under a wide range of circumstances, the optimal steady-state level of preventative capital stock – raised through the issuance of a municipal “clean air bond” that funds more aggressive mitigation efforts – can meet the standard for PM2.5 concentrations with positive social net benefits. We estimate benefit-cost ratios ranging between 0.9:1 and 2.2:1, …

Influences On Library Liaison And Faculty Collaboration In Collection Development, Tim Butzen
Influences On Library Liaison And Faculty Collaboration In Collection Development, Tim Butzen
Library Philosophy and Practice (e-journal)
Much has been written about library liaison programs in academic libraries throughout the United States. Since their inception, liaison programs have emphasized the collaboration between librarians and faculty in collection development. This brief paper synthesizes relevant literature to identify the dynamics that currently influence this collaboration. Those that emerge here include liaison job descriptions and collection development policies, direct service and collaboration, information reciprocity, relational factors, and budgets. The paper concludes with suggestions for interdisciplinary collaboration and for future teaching and research.

"The digital age has created the need for a new kind of literacy-a literacy that empowers news consumers to determine whether information is credible, reliable and truthful. This is not just a skill; it is a new core competency for the 21st century. So-called “fake news” is hard to spot and spreads easily, leading to disagreements over basic facts. The antidote to the growing challenges posed by this digital revolution is news literacy. This mini news literacy course includes two three-hour sessions that will teach anyone to become a more critical consumer of news. "

Beaver Lake Projectile Point, Robert Z. Selden Jr.
Beaver Lake Projectile Point, Robert Z. Selden Jr.
CRHR: Archaeology
This is a Paleoindian Period Beaver Lake projectile point (approx. 10,500-9,500 B.P.) of Ft. Payne chert discovered in Perry County, Tennessee. It is associated with state site number 40PY312 and context of find is a shoreline bank on the Tennessee River near Linden, Tennessee. Site 40PY312 is also associated with hundreds of early stage reduction flakes of Ft. Payne chert. The point is important because of its Paleoindian cultural affiliation of which very little is known, and also by the fact it has been re-purposed from a projectile point to an end-scraper. The re-purposing of projectile points is a very …

Developing Coal Burst Propensity Index Method For Australian Coal Mines, Xiaohan Yang, Ting X. Ren, Lihai Tan, Alex M. Remennikov, Xueqiu He
Faculty of Engineering and Information Sciences - Papers: Part B
Coal burst is the violent failure of overstressed coal, and it is often accompanied by sound, coal ejection and seismic events. It is subsequently recognized as a serious safety risk of Australia after double fatalities coal burst happened at Austar Coal Mine. Considering the increasing trend of coal burst severity and frequency with mining depth, it is an urgent task to develop the coal burst risk assessment methods for Australia underground coal mines. Coal burst propensity index method is a widely used method of burst risk evaluation of coal as it is summed up from the coal burst research and …
