This article describes how the sport psychology laboratory at the University of Illinois was re-started in the early 1950s under the leadership of Coleman Griffith, Seward Staley and Alfred W. Hubbard. Additionally, the work completed as part of the sport psychology laboratory between 1950 and 1970 under the supervision of Alfred W. Hubbard is described.
