ABSTRACT

The purpose of this paper was to complete a systematic literature review (SLR) of previous articles about leadership in youth sports. While sport leadership as a subject matter has contributed to the body of sport management and its academically associated literature for decades, seemingly, there exists a lack of understanding of this subject matter in the context of youth sport. Two rounds of screening process resulted in a sample of 20 appropriate articles for SLR. Then, the purposes, methods, and results, and of the 20 articles were analyzed. Esports is rapidly growing and gaining popularity, however there is a lack of research regarding physical activity levels of eSport athletes, especially those at the collegiate level. This study summarizes the current research and findings related to exercise, overall health, and video game performance. All varsity eSport athletes for The University of Akron varsity team were “participants” in this study. An Analysis Of Attendance At An Ncaa Division I University: The Relationship Of Fan Identification, Sport Fandom, And Demographic Variables, Ashley Richardson

Research was conducted at The University of Akron to investigate the relationship between attendance at sporting events and fan identification, sport fandom, and other demographics variables. 195 Akron students took a survey consisting of the Sport Spectator Identification Scale, the Sport Fandom Questionnaire, and a demographic questionnaire. The results revealed that fan identification and sport fandom were both positively correlated to student attendance at sporting events. Additional factors significantly correlated with attendance were if the participant had friends that played on a varsity sports team, or if the participant themselves played on a varsity sports team. The purpose of this study was to investigate the preferences of golfers and how those preferences affected their putting. This study involved participants who were golfers with a four-handicap or better taking a survey of their preferences of having the flagstick in and out and then assessing their putting from various distances with the flagstick in and out. Underwater treadmill running can be used as a means of reducing musculoskeletal loading while maintaining a training intensity equal to that of land running. A variety of cardiovascular benefits are seen in water running, such as greater increases in stroke volume and cardiac output than on land. Additionally, increased drag while water running can significantly improve force production. PURPOSE: To investigate if differences exist between underwater treadmill and land treadmill running on leg strength and cardiovascular endurance through a case study of two 22 year old sedentary males.
