Mental Health Outcomes Of Family Caregiving And The Role Of Perceived Control, Hanah Sebek

Previous studies demonstrated that caregiving stress is associated with symptoms of poor mental health including depression. We examined sense of control as moderator of the association between caregiving stress and depressive symptoms. Data were from the Midlife in the United States (MIDUS) study, a national survey that included 7,108 participants aged from 24 to 75 years at baseline. Caregiving stress and sense of control were from the 2004 wave, the outcome variable, depressive symptoms, was from 2013 wave controlling for depressive symptoms in 2004.
