The purpose of this study is to better understand the attitudes and beliefs about evidence-based practice among masters in social work practitioners (MSWs) and licensed clinical social workers (LCSWs). Assessing the attitudes toward evidence-based practice can further the analysis of competent practice and perhaps help determine the extent to which social work is a profession based on research or anecdotal methods. The survey was given to 59 MSWs and LCSWs working in the mental health setting during a staff meeting at Patton State Hospital.

The purpose of this study was to identify the obstacles faced by African American and Hispanic students as well as the motivations that help them thrive in today's society through a college education. This is important for social workers who work with ethnic minorities because by learning about ways in which these two groups are still being oppressed, they can find ways of empowering them to overcome barriers to accessing higher education. 85 students from Hispanic and African American descent at California State University San Bernardino were surveyed.

This study provided this population the opportunity to tell their stories, their perspectives about domestic violence, their concerns, and their perceived needs, if any. The purpose of this research was to examine the perceptions of parents of different cultures on how to cope with stress in relation to caring for a child with Down syndrome. This study targeted parents that attend Down Syndrome Association of Los Angeles (DSALA) support groups. DSALA has support groups all over Los Angeles, Riverside and San Bernardino Counties.
