In the course of mine action in the Republic of Croatia so far, the most important and most represented activity has been conducting humanitarian demining operations. Since the very beginning of systematic pursuit of demining problem area, the basic issue has always been the question of defining suspected hazardous area. True development of demining capacities starts with the establishment of the Croatian Mine Action Centre and amendments to the Law on Demining by which the market model was introduced.

The Evaluation of EC support for mine action in Africa is the first of six regional mine action evaluations that the Geneva International Centre for Humanitarian Demining (GICHD) will conduct or commission for the European Commission (EC). The mine/UXO problem in Azerbaijan is mainly resulted from the military aggression of Armenia over the territory
of Azerbaijan. Although the hostilities had ceased in May 1994, a permanent peace is yet to be achieved
(negotiations are underway with the assistance of OSCE Minsk Group, chaired by the USA, France and Russia).
