ASEAN Journal of Community Engagement
This edition of AJCE brings together discussions on the various roles and effectiveness of research and community engagement programs in strengthening local identity, developing skills, and enhancing quality of life towards a resilient society. Expanding such roles, this issue consists of four research articles, one review article, and three case-based articles. Successful stories of community engagement existed during the Ebola disease outbreak in Liberia, indicating that a combination of government and community efforts are needed in addressing pandemics or epidemics. However, for communities to rise to the challenge of containing and combatting the spread of any disease, they must be communicated most effectively and supported by the government.
