This Technical Bulletin provides cost and productivity estimates for five different refuse collection technologies (including manual, semi-automated, and automated). The data shows that automated and semi-automated technologies represent reliable, cost-effective methods of refuse collection which should be given serious consideration by almost every city which provides refuse collection service.
