Objective: perform a bibliometric characterization of Cuban research on information literacy (INFOLIT) based on the literature published from 2000 to 2013. Methods: substantiation was provided for conceptual notions about INFOLIT in the field of library and information sciences, and some interesting research antecedents were explored. Sixty-seven papers identified by the Ibero-America-Cuba INFOLIT Wiki-Repository were examined with the bibliometric indicators yearly productivity, authors, journals and term co-occurrence analysis, as well as type of documents cited, and most commonly cited journals and authors. Purpose – The aim of this paper is to investigate the research output performance of LIS Professionals and to study the citation analysis of all the journal articles published in the Library Management Journal during 2010-2012 is carried out.

Design/methodology/approach – The data for this study were drawn from a selective sample from Library Management e-journal available through the Kuvempu University web site subscribed through UGC-INFONET. This study aims at measuring the correlation between information needs of patrons and the Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (UFSC) Library collection. The survey was carried out targeting students from a doctoral course in Scientific and Technological Education especially, analyzing the listing of sources and literature of UFSC doctoral theses submitted in 2012. Using Citation Data For Purchase Decisions: Analysing Citing Patterns And Journal Holdings At The Royal Institute Of Technology, Cecilia Heyman Widmark

This paper describes how citation data can be used for identifying gaps in journal holdings and in that way form a foundation for acquisitions. Citation data was matched against e-journal holdings using Web of Science™ and export files from a central knowledge base. Data for three years (2010-2012) was used, in total from 6 246 publications containing 130 090 references to 5 216 journals.

Furthermore, impact factors from Journal Citation Reports™ were added as well as information about publisher and if the journal was open access or not. The journals were also enriched with subject headings. The latter information was …

Use Of Archives By Catholic Historians, 2010-2012: A Citation Study, Jillian M. Slater, Colleen Hoelscher

This article reports on a citation study examining the use of archives by researchers in the field of Catholic history. The authors collected citation data from three Catholic history journals published from 2010 through 2012. They analyzed two citation attributes: the type of materials cited and, for archival materials, the type of repository. This article presents results and observations from the study and discusses them in the context of archival practice. The authors discuss how findings from this study can inform collection development and archival description as well as ideas for further research.
