University Libraries Faculty and Staff Publications
UVM Libraries launched ScholarWorks @ UVM in 2013 to collect, preserve and disseminate scholarly works of faculty, students as well as make collections, reports and other materials more discoverable and available.
This institutional repository has grown to over twenty collections, comprising of student dissertations and theses, public health projects, historic botanical research, Vermont history, faculty publications and more.
Challenges include varied participation across campus, impacting work flow in library positions, and adding another library service.
Author’s works enjoy increased discoverability from all over the world, from low income countries to individuals that seek information without the benefit of library resources. …

The Caine College of the Arts (CCA) Music Program Archives preserves artifacts of student, faculty, and guest artist musical contributions to scholarly and creative activity at Utah State University. This collection recognizes the value of campus musical history and community through collaboration between the Music Department, its liaison librarian, and the digital scholarship librarian.
Founded in 2008, DigitalCommons@USU is the University's institutional repository (IR). It is currently the 3rd largest Digital Commons instance in the nation, containing over 63,000 items.

This study was undertaken to uncover the potential role that Institutional Repositories (IR) can offer to preserve in the long term the special collections (especially cultural heritage materials) so as to reap the advantages that these collections offer in terms of intellectual development in Africa.
The study involved use of scoping review which involves five stages: research question, identifying the relevant study, selecting the study, developing a narrative review (charting data), summarizing (collating) data and an optional consultation step.
