People who used the University of Sargodha library were asked what they thought about Cloud Computing for the study. The goal of this study was to find out more about how people feel about cloud computing in general and how well they understand it. There were both descriptive and quantitative methods used in the study. Over sixty-nine people were asked to take part in the study, and 65 were randomly picked from the census. The study was designed to ascertain the utilization of media resources for instructions among library educators in adult learning centers in Awka South LGA. A descriptive survey research design was used for the study. The sample population comprised of 14 adult educators selected randomly from adult learning center in Awka South LGA using the purposive sampling technique. A structured questionnaire on a four (4) – point Likert scale was used for collection of data. When it comes to collection reappraisal or deaccessioning, rare book or non-circulating research collections are often overlooked until space considerations bring the issue to the forefront. After all, no librarian likes discarding books, particularly historic ones. This case study shows how the Special Collections and University Archives at the University of North Florida reappraised a rare books collection and created collecting criteria to aid in the disposition of rare and non-circulating books. "What Is A Wave But 1000 Drops Working Together?": The Role Of Public Libraries In Addressing Lgbtqia+ Health Information Disparities, Vanessa Lynn Kitzie, A. Nick Vera, Valerie Lookingbill, Travis L. Wagner

Purpose. This paper presents results from a participatory action research study with 46 LGBTQIA+ community leaders and 60 library workers who participated in four community forums at public libraries across the US. The forums identified barriers to LGBTQIA+ communities addressing their health questions and concerns and explored strategies for public libraries to tackle them.

Design/methodology/approach. Forums followed the World Café format to facilitate collaborative knowledge development and promote participant-led change. Data sources included collaborative notes taken by participants and observational researcher notes. Data analysis consisted of emic/etic qualitative coding.

To best serve LGBTQ+ students in an academic library, it is necessary to develop a list of best practices. While there is ample literature on the topic of the needs of LGBTQ+ students in academic libraries and how to address those needs, there is no readily accessible list of evidence-based best practices for general implementation. To address this need, the author identified an initial pool of 210 articles published in library journals between 2000 and 2022. This article shares individual and collective experiences from five faculty ranked librarians with roles outside of formal instruction who are employed at an academic institution in the United States, and their approach to developing and embracing a teacher identity in the context of their professional trajectory. The article explores how the authors prepared to be evaluated against traditional classroom teaching for promotion by forming a cohort-based group to support “noninstructional” librarians to create a teaching portfolio, and how they approached teaching from liminal and, at times, tenuous positions and career stages. Both everyday life experience and a growing body of research show just how hard it is to determine the credibility of online sources. Traditional checklist approaches to evaluating websites (e.g., the CRAAP test) are ineffective, despite their continued prevalence. The study investigated the creativity of librarians as determinant of job performance in some selected polytechnic libraries in Delta State. The study adopted a descriptive survey using questionnaire to collect data. The population of the study consists of 45 librarians. A total of 45 questionnaires were distributed only 33 were retrieved using descriptive statistics, the mean and percentage of the data were calculated. This talk discusses the deaccession project at the University of Central Florida Libraries from the perspective of Technical Service. It first provided the project background and scope, preparation for deaccession, and different workflows tested for the project. It then focuses on a mixed approach with manual and batch withdrawals to meet the library’s needs. It also addresses considerations in adopting a workflow for a collection or a set. Finally, it discusses the advantages and disadvantages of the batch withdraw workflow and the next steps that can be taken.

The ways in which a technology is invented, owned, and approved are strongly influenced by the same oppressive and exclusionary structures that critical librarianship interrogates. Patents, limited-term grants of rights to inventions, are issued to inventors in exchange for detailed specifications of the invention. This paper examines current practices used by business librarians in teaching students how to find patents and how these practices could be critically informed given the nature of the United States patent system as it exists today. An output of this work is a suggested lesson plan with recommended resources.

The study investigated registration status, reading interest level, and library use habits of teaching staff in Akwa Ibom State University, Nigeria. The study adopted survey research design, with a total population of 467 teaching staff from eight (8) academic faculties. Out of the total study population, a sample of 212 was selected using an online sample calculator known as Survey Monkey Sample Size Calculator at 95% confidence level and confidence interval of 5%.
