This citation analysis examines the availability of 1313 citations from student research posters across multiple disciplines at a mid-sized university. The study focuses on whether the cited materials are available via the library or freely online. Results indicate only one-fifth of citations were from library proprietary sources while two-thirds were freely available online. Resource age and discipline also influence availability. The J. Murrey Atkins Library at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte serves over 21,000 undergraduates and over 4,000 graduate students. While university libraries develop their collections mainly to support research and teaching functions, according to accepted collection development practice, the extent to which sports of local importance are represented in their collections is a subject given little attention in the professional literature.

In order to help close the gap, this study evaluates the football holdings of the 12 SEC university library systems using the checklist …

The gradual expansion of the Georgia Institute of Technology ‘s Library and Special Collection has resulted in a unique and outstanding science and technological research facility. The process was expanded by a number of individuals who dedicated their professional years to improving the holdings. Unique among these treasures is the first edition of Newton’s Principia.
