Biographical materials about the five presidents who have served in the administration of St. Norbert College appear to abound in number. Many of these, however, are scattered in various locations---some in local and Green Bay newspaper files, some in De Pere and Green Bay historical society archives, some in the St. Norbert Abbey Archives, and a goodly share in the St. Norbert College Archival area. The Adolph And Ella Frankenthal Reading Room, St. Norbert College

Archives Publications

Adolph and Ella Frankenthal, in whose honor this library reading room is dedicated were immigrants, refugees from Nazi Germany, who found their desire for freedom and love of work in America. Their memorial is a triumph for liberty and knowledge and a defeat for obstruction of learning and dictatorships- a reading room, a "book center" were wisdom may be reserved. It is fitting, perhaps, that Adolf and Ella Frankenthal, who fled Nazi book-burnings and racial persecution, will be honored in a center of learning.
