Outreach Librarian, Monika Antonelli and University Archivist Librarian, Daardi Sizemore will show an excerpt of their 50 minute documentary film, Two Weeks in May, which documents student anti-Vietnam War protests on the Minnesota State University, Mankato campus in May 1972. The presenters will share their experiences creating the film including: timeline, funding, personnel, film production, use of archival material, and acquisition of new archival material. The film highlights historical events at the University and in the city of Mankato, and demonstrates the importance of student engagement with social and political issues.

In anticipation of the 50th anniversary of the Minnesota Vikings Training Camp at Mankato, University Archives staff conducted an oral history project to document Vikings Training Camp at Minnesota State University, Mankato. Over 130 fans, community partners, Minnesota State University employees, and alumni Viking players agreed to share their Vikings Training Camp stories. We blitzed Training Camp at Mankato with an iPad on a stick and snapped up quick three-question interviews. In the last year, the Library at Minnesota State University, Mankato has launched two repositories for digital content, Cornerstone: A Collection of Scholarly and Creative Works and ARCH: University Archives Digital Collections. An important component of developing these repositories has been our marketing efforts. We will share how we worked together with Integrated Marketing, Printing Services, and the Library Outreach Committee to actively promote and advance the collections.
