Murray Learning Resources Center was named in honor of the college’s architect, William Lynch Murray and his wife Geraldine. The library expansion project was completed at Messiah College, now Messiah University, in 1977.

In April 2022, the 1950 Census was released to the public for the first time, after 72 years. Learn how to find yourself or your family members in the census. Try it out for yourself!

Words matter. To make materials findable, libraries have relied on subject headings and classification numbers to organize their resources. Have you ever wondered how these subjects or classification numbers were developed? Both the Dewey Decimal Classification and Library of Congress Classification were developed with a Western-centric, white, Christian, male perspective. How does the language we use in our subject headings reinforce marginalization? In what ways can libraries reconcile the inequalities found in these standardized policies to be inclusive of diverse and multicultural perspectives? Visualizing Student Learning: Combining Digital And Information Literacy For Data Visualization Projects In A Nutrition And Dietetics Course, Amy Porto, Beth Transue

This session will focus on the creation and implementation of a data visualization assignment through collaboration with the liaison librarian and instructional designers. Students gained digital and information literacy skills while creating an evidence-based infographic that could be used in nutrition education settings.

A Lasting Legacy: E. J. Swalm’S Story Of Conscientious Objection During World War I, Beth Mark

Ernest John Swalm, despite being a part of a peace church, was drafted into World War I. In this article, Beth Mark, a librarian from Messiah University, discusses how he has become an symbol for historic peace churches, such as Mennonite and Brethren in Christ, for his experiences as a conscientious objector.
