Africa Nations have contributed to peace operations in conflict zones across the world since the deployment of the United Nations Operations in the Congo in 1960. This has placed Africa as a major stakeholder in the maintenance of peace and security. The Lebanon-Israel War Of 2006: Global Effects And Its Aftermath, Emmanuel Kotia, Fiifi Edu-Afful

This article examines the demands for global liability for the killings and extensive destruction committed by Israel and Hezbollah in the 2006 war. It explains why, despite strong condemnation globally for the disproportionate force used in that unconventional war, the concrete steps specified by the United Nations Resolution 1701 have failed to address the primary challenges that necessitated the war. In this article, we provide an analysis of Ghana’s infrastructures for peace using the National Peace Council (NPC) as a case study. The article focuses on the composition, structures, tasks, achievements and challenges of the NPC. It argues that the NPC has made significant contributions in preventing and managing acts of violence that could have plunge Ghana into conflict. Its unique roles during the 2012 elections in Ghana are a testament to this assertion. The cause of the civil war in Liberia can be traced to the country’s unresolved ethnic and political differences. The country that was founded on the principles of freedom and democracy , but after one and half centuries, of its existence the country descended into destruction in which both democracy and human rights were compromised. This paper traces the history of Liberia from its establishment to the outbreak of the war in 1989 focusing on some of the causes for contradictions in that long history.
