Demographic and Landscape Change in Linden Hills, Minneapolis: A Case Study in Gentrification. Linden Hills, a Minneapolis neighborhood best known for its hilly linden-tree lined streets, charming homes, parks, and boutique-style shops, is undergoing a transformation from an older generation neighborhood, of lower-income, into a trendy, young urbanite area--a process commonly referred to as "gentrification". This is a pilot project being conducted at St Cloud State University with the purpose of helping to alleviate financial insecurity as well as food insecurity for St Cloud State University students so that they can succeed to their highest abilities. We are an on campus project being run to help students who are in need of financial assistance.
