This project examines the effects of a mental health campaign on college students. This is important to research because universities and colleges alike need to understand the effects that campaigns about mental health on campus can have on students. I researched this by conducting an online experimental study on a sample of 511 students at a university in the Mid-Atlantic region. Qualtrics randomly assigned the participants into two groups, where one group viewed an experimental campaign and the other a control ad. This autoethnographic study examines Type 1 Diabetes through the lens of intersectionality framework, power and discipline, and the chaotic story of the body. As an Adult Type 1 Diabetic at diagnosis, I explore the tensions between my already established identities as an Asian American woman in academia attempting to incorporate and accept another identity, an identity of illness. The Birds And The Bees: The Impact Of Parent-Child Communication On Adolescent Sexual Health, Hannah Adams

Having “the talk” with children can be difficult and uncomfortable. However, recent behavioral research indicates that having this conversation, and having it often, is important for raising sexually healthy adolescents. This paper provides an overview of the literature surrounding the role of parent-adolescent communication in the development of sexually healthy young adults, including benefits for LGBTQIA+ youth. The findings suggest that non-judgmental parental communication can encourage condom use, delay initiation of intercourse, and reduce mental health issues arising from a perceived lack of support for sexual choices.
